Joining a Microsoft Teams meeting
Once you have connected to Teams having followed the applicable procedure, please follow the steps below to join a meeting.
Connecting to Teams from a personal computer
Connecting to Teams from a company device
Joining a meeting in teams is simple once you’ve connected correctly. It’s the same whether you have a personal computer or a bridge device.
Joining from a Laptop or Desktop
- Click “Calendar” from the left hand side menu (shown above)
- Locate the meeting you wish to join
- Right click the meeting and choose “Join” or “Join Online” (Shown above)
- Before you press “Join Now” to begin the meeting, make sure you’ve enabled both video and audio using the slide buttons (shown below)
Joining from a Company Mobile
The interface for Teams is similar but the location of the menu is different to a laptop or computer. Follow the steps below to join a meeting on your company mobile.
- Tap “Calendar” from the bottom menu (shown below – Left)
- Tap Join located next to the correct meeting (shown below – Left)
- Make sure to turn on Video and Audio as required
(shown below – Right)
If prompted make sure you allow access to your camera and/or microphone - Tap “Join Now” to enter the meeting (shown below – Right)
Joining from a Personal Mobile Device
Connecting to Teams on a personal mobile is a little different as it requires that you forward the meeting invite to a personal email address accessible from your device. This is for security and helps to keep the company safe.

Once connected with a personal account follow the steps below to join a meeting on your company mobile.
- Login to the work remote desktop environment (New RDS)
- Open Outlook and forward the meeting invitation from your calendar to your personal email address that is accessible from your personal mobile phone or tablet.
- From your mobile device, open the email invitation and tap the “Join Microsoft Teams Meeting” link within.
- When prompted choose “Join as a guest” instead
of “Sign in and join” (Shown bottom left)
If prompted make sure you allow access to your camera and/or microphone - Make sure to turn on Video and Audio as required (shown bottom right)
- Tap “Join Now” to enter the meeting (shown bottom Right)
